You can throw one fat body or mutation on one and that will keep it from being instantly killed...spirit walk and telegnosis make it easy to move them around. If you have a garuda in there too, you're talking about a lot of easy kills.

The Lichenoid/Fay combo can help pump up the powder eater's stats as well. Fay can help make them into ferocious attackers. However, n3th719's Garuda suggestion means that you could leave out the Fay and just worry about increasing the Powder Eaters' HP and spreading them across the board, allowing the Garudas the dominate.

Don't forget Spirit Walk - this lets you duplicate your PEs across the globe. a few Chariots are probably in order too, to let you get past those pesky shrines.

Too slow for my tastes. Get a powder eater up to 0/80 or 0/100 than phantasm it (mass or not, does not matter) than cast Lunatic Light on it. Your one eater will become 80/80 or 100/100, then use spirit walk to fill up the board and Storm Armor to pound anything you want.

Thanks for the advice. The phantasm/lunatic light combo is something I haven't tried yet.

Eh, I'd rather go with Fay/Lichenoid/Fat Body (of course, you've gotta use Fat Body before Fay)... Otherwise, you're just sitting there with your Phantasm, LL and Spirit Walk in your hand, waiting for them to be suppressed or crushed while you set up your deck.

I run a pretty mean Powder Eater/Feast deck that works fairly well on certain maps. I don't even bother with invasion, so much as just holding territory. I start copying early, even before I've pumped 'em up much. I'll post a card list when I get some time. The creatures I run are PE, Fay, Lichenoid, Garuda, Clay Idol, Granite Idol and Lord of Bane. (The maps I tend to run the deck on are symbol maps, and the plus 10 to ST is nice).

I've been primarily using mutation, Fay and Lichenoid to boost my powder eater and spirit walk the guy all over the map. This creature is great for invading from a neighbouring territory (via creature movement). The invasion costs you no money, you don't lose the original powder eater and you likely force your opponent to use an item card (which costs $$$). I often use a powder eater when I'm dealing with a large map where onhand magic/money is a real problem for the 1st few laps of the game.

That uh... collar thing eliminates their land bonus, adds 30 to your attack, and it doesnt matter that you lose the attacking powder eater because your original stays.

Tombstone lets you swap a move command for a full hand on the next turn, provided you're next to a creature that can kill your powder eater.

Angry Mask is essentially a cheap Spiked Shield if you survive the enemy's attack, but the damage penetrates.

Protean Ring is great to use before you pump their hp up, and free, but you cant use it in defense because it will reset your powder eater to its original mhp.

I'm having a lot of fun with a deck that uses a lot of the combos above, some direct damage, and some sulfurous balloons. I'm using a couple fays and lichenoids to pump up the eaters, then a couple fat bodies and 4 mutations. Mass Growth and Reinforce also, and Chariot to get around the special tiles. MHP sword is great once their hp gets high enough also, and Mesozoic Song... because Multiplying into a fearsome dinosaur is just plain hilarious (and you can still use the attack items you were going to use with just the plain old powder eater).

Good luck - it's an awesome idea for a deck
